The Rail & Truck Strait Union was formed by Ecorail, Marcotran and CMA CGM in order to offer an alternative to road freight transport, by combining sea, road and rail. This pioneering project connects the Port of Algeciras to the Zaragoza Plaza Terminal via the rail highway.

This route represents a strategic connection axis between the Maghreb, Spain and northern Europe. The new formula for freight on semi-trailers loaded from truck to rail will stimulate traffic flow and the growth of new lines of business.

This commitment to intermodality will reduce the number of trucks on the road and drastically reduce CO₂ emissions, thereby contributing to sustainability.
