Julio Gómez-Pomar Rodríguez, president of Ecorail, has a doctorate in economics from the University Complutense de Madrid and a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School. He has developed his career with high-level public administration responsibilities as Secretary of State for Public Administration, and Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing. He was president of Renfe Operadora and is the director of the Centre for Transport Economics and Infrastructure Management at the Instituto de Empresa.
Juan Fernández Álvarez, CEO of Ecorail, is a technical mining engineer (University of Oviedo) and a graduate in senior management (IESE University of Navarra). In his railway career spanning more than 40 years he has held various operational positions, and has been the head of Human Resources, Freight, Workshops and Strategy, in addition to directing the Logirail subsidiary.
Daniel Martínez Alonso, Chief Executive Officer of Ecorail, holds a degree in Marine Engineering (École Nationale de Marine Marchande, France) and has held positions of responsibility in industrial companies. Within the Renfe Group, he was responsible for various maintenance areas for 30 years and served as Chief Executive Officer of Erión, a company dedicated to the comprehensive maintenance of trains.
Juan Luis López Rubio, is a lawyer who graduated in Law and Business Administration from the CEU San Pablo University in Madrid. He has a master’s degree in Legal Consulting from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues and has specialised in business law. He is attached to the Board of Directors of Ecorail and responsible for legal advisory services.
Álvaro López Tejero, Ecorail’s Director of Strategy, has a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of San Pablo CEU in Madrid. He specialises in the development of new business projects, and has previously worked at Magtel and La Máquina, where he has held positions in operations, human resources and bank relations.
Paula Bergera, Chief Operations and Safety Officer of Ecorail, is an industrial engineer and graduate of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (ENSAM). She has solid experience in the railway sector, where she has held positions of responsibility in maintenance and operations at companies such as Ouigo, as Head of Maintenance, and at Adif, participating in projects related to the management, safety, and reliability of railway infrastructure.
Marinés Fonseca is the Chief Financial Officer of Eco Rail. She leads the company’s financial and administrative strategy, ensuring economic sustainability, management control, and regulatory compliance of railway projects. She has a strong track record of over 15 years in financial management, controlling, and taxation, with previous experience in aviation companies, retail, and international firms such as Deloitte and IBM.
